Virginia "Jennie" Buchanan

Virginia "Jennie" Robinson Buchanan left this world on Thursday, August 7, 2019 from the Brian Center in Spruce Pine, NC. She was the daughter of the late  Stokes and Lizzie Robinson and the beloved wife of Ben Buchanan who passed away in 2016.  Jennie loved to crochet and going camping and "loafing" with her family. She was a member of the Double Island Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brothers: Albert, Claude, Russell and Dennis Robinson and a sister, Kathleen Garland.

Survivors include three sisters: Maude Williams of Johnson City, TN, Estelle Briggs of the Kona Community of Mitchell County, and Darlene Lanning and husband Troy of Marion, NC; brother, Clifford Robinson of Maiden, NC, her sister in law, Ada Robinson of Maiden and a host of nieces and nephews who loved her dearly.

Funeral services will be 3:00 PM Saturday, August 10, 2019 in the chapel of Henline-Hughes Funeral Home with Pastor Rick Woody officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:30 PM to 3:00 PM at the funeral home. Burial will follow the service in the Kona Cemetery. Memorial's may be made the Hospice and Palliative Care of the Blue Ridge, 236 Hospital Drive, Spruce Pine, NC 28777.
