Tilia G Derose

Tilia G. DeRose, age 82, of Spruce Pine, NC passed away on Thursday, September 23, 2021 in the Care Partners Solace Center, Asheville, NC. She was the daughter of the late Roy Schilling and Tilia Hamilton. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Virginia Gennari; her brother, Arthur Astore and a grandson, Drew Vallierie.

Tilia was a member of St. Lucien Catholic Church where she sang in the choir. She loved to play golf and she loved her family, adored her grandchildren and she was an excellent cook.

Survivors include her husband, Norman DeRose; daughter, Stacie Vallierie (Craig Trainham) of Spruce Pine; son, Douglas DeRose of Charlotte, NC; grandchildren: Victoria Vallierie, Bailey DeRose and Adam Trainham. 

A funeral mass will be held 1:30 PM Friday, October 1, 2021 at St. Lucien Catholic Church, 503 Summit Ave, Spruce Pine, NC  with Father Christopher Bond officiating. Burial will follow in the Spruce Pine Memorial Cemetery.
