Terry Lee Sturgill

Terry Lee Sturgill, age 66 of Pigeon Roost Rd, Green Mountain, NC went home to be with the Lord February 7, 2023. He was born in Yancey County, NC to the late Clarence and Helen Barnett Sturgill. He was employed as a caregiver in home health.

Terry was of the Baptist faith and was a good neighbor to his community. He had a servants heart and would help anyone he could. He enjoyed arrowhead hunting, carpentry work, and tending his garden and flowers.

Survivors include his siblings; Larry Keith Sturgill (Sandra), of Green Mountain , NC, Stanley Sturgill, of the home, Gerald Sturgill (Teresa), of Green Mountain, NC, and Billie Jean Whitson (Steve), of Burnsville, NC, a nephew and a niece he thought of as his own children; Dustin Sturgill (Elizabeth), and Caitlin Duvall (Tyler), great nieces and nephews; Sadie, Elijah, and Rylie Sturgill, Greyson, and Skyler Duvall, special friends; Jewell Warrick, James Warrick, Johnny and Alana Howell, and his dog Daisey.

Terry was loved by all his cousins, neighbors, and friends.

A memorial service will be held Thursday, February 16, 2023 at 2:00PM in Upper Pigeon Roost Zion Church with Reverends Dustin Sturgill and Ronald Thomas officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in the Bennett Cemetery.
