Terry Lee Byrd

Terry Lee Byrd, 64, of Buladean, NC passed away on Tuesday, October 17, 2023 at his home. He was the son of the late Wanda Hughes and Nathan Byrd. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sister, Margaret Ann Byrd and brother, Dale Hughes.

Terry was an avid NASCAR fan, plus he enjoyed fishing, loafing and visiting with his friends, and he was in the habit of buying junk cars!

Survivors include his wife, Jane Byrd of Buladean; daughters, Becky Hughes (Tommy) of Buladean, and Michelle Byrd of Knoxville, TN; brothers, Randy Hughes of Pennsylvania, and Douglas Hughes of Maryland, sister, Betty Clark of South Carolina; grandchildren: Logan Byrd of Johnson City, TN, Lane Honeycutt of Kingsport, TN, Skylar Hughes of Spruce Pine, NC, Winter Basurto of Knoxville, TN, Landon Hughes of Buladean, Conatan Basurto of Knoxville, Haven Hughes of Buladean, and Vay Scales of Knoxville; 1 great grandchild, Zeke Kimbrough.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 PM  on Sunday, October 22, 2023 in the chapel of Henline-Hughes Funeral home. Everyone is invited to attend. Private burial will be in the Beans Creek Cemetery.
