Shelby Jean Street Lewis age 78 of Hughes Gap Rd, Bakersville, NC passed away February 15, 2023. She was a native of Mitchell County, NC and a daughter of the late Coy and Bessie Hughes Street. She was retired from AT&T in manufacturing.
Shelby loved her animals and working in her flower gardens. She was a caregiver to all.
Survivors include two sisters Judy Harper, of Boone, NC, and Betty Street Pendley, of Spruce Pine, NC, one brother Arvell Street, of Wilkesboro, NC, and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death in addition to her parents by her husband Richard Gary Lewis, two brothers Wade and Larry Street, and a sister Trula Hughes.
A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
