Samuel Allen Willis, age 81, of the Rabbit Hop Community of Spruce Pine passed away July 17, 2020. He was born in Mecklenburg County and worked at Hampshire Hosiery for 40 years. He was a Deacon and lifelong member of Big Crabtree Baptist Church.
Survivors include: his wife, Susie Willis, daughter, Kathy Woody Crowder and husband Rick Crowder of Bakersville, son, Allen Willis of Spruce Pine, grandchildren, Jennifer Woody Sparks and husband Michael Sparks of Bakersville, Joshua Willis and husband Mike Paskow of Washington DC, Samuel Willis and wife Amanda Willis of Forest City, great-grandchildren, Dylan Woody, Luke Sparks, Samuel Ralph Willis and Henry Allen Willis, sister, Maude Hoyle and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by: his mother, Jenny Grindstaff, sister, Sally Hoyle and brothers Claude and Frank Willis.
A Private Graveside service will be held Monday, July 20, 2020 at Big Crabtree Baptist Church Cemetery on Rabbit Hop Road in Spruce Pine. There will be no visitation. Mike Rathbone will be officiating the service.
