Roy Honeycutt Obituary

Dateline: Bakersville, NC

 

Roy Honeycutt, age 87, of White Oak Rd., Bakersville, NC went home to be with the Lord May 8, 2021 surrounded by his loving family. He was a native of Mitchell County, NC and a son of the late William (Will) and Nora Hill Honeycutt. He was retired from Parker Hosiery Mill in Old Fort, NC.

 

Roy was a man of faith and loved serving his Lord. He enjoyed attending Grace Baptist Church and loved all his church family. He also was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed fishing, hunting, and gardening. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family and enjoyed family gatherings and meals.

 

Survivors include: his loving wife of 70 years Christine Honeycutt, three children; Helen Brooks (Joey), Margaret Ward (Charles), and Bruce Honeycutt (Sarah), all of Bakersville, NC, one sister Martha Garland (Jack), of Valdese, NC, two brothers; Howard Honeycutt (Goldie), and Frank Honeycutt (Sue), all of Bakersville, NC, several grandchildren, great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren.

 

He was preceded in death in addition to his parents by: three brothers; Ray, Rob, and Hoyte Honeycutt, and two sisters; Pat Honeycutt, and Joyce Gibbs.

 

Private services will be held.

 

The family would like to say a special thank you for the care and love shown by Wendy Peterson and her family, and Hospice and Palliative Care of the Blue Ridge. Memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of The Blue Ridge 236 Hospital Drive, Spruce Pine, NC 28777.
