Roger Dale Pendley

Roger Dale Pendley, age 76 of Summerhill Lane, Spruce Pine, NC went home to be with the Lord August 10, 2023.

He was born in Avery County, NC to the late Violet Pendley. Roger was a lifelong member of Beaver Creek Baptist Church where he taught Sunday School Classes and was an Usher. He was previously employed with Henredon Furniture for thirty six years and then started his own business Pendley Custom Cabinets. He graduated from the AB Tech Carpentry Program and truly enjoyed woodworking. Roger enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren Jona Crew Ramsey (his best buddy), and Geneva Rose Ramsey.

Survivors include his wife of 46 years Sherry Lynn Ledford Pendley, his daughter Tracie Pendley Ramsey (Jordon), special cousins that were like brothers and sisters: Troy Pendley (Martha), Mary Jo Lominac, Carolyn Renfro (Wade), Patsy Chambers (Jim), Shirley Hollifield, Judy Honeycutt, and Betty Sue Pendley.

He was preceded in death in addition to his mother by two aunts Mary and Maggie Pendley.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, August 13, 2023 at 3:00PM in the chapel of Henline - Hughes Funeral Home with Reverends Brandon Pitman, Larry Greene, and Holt Whitson officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow the service at Pendley Cemetery.
