DATELINE; Penland, NC

Norman Schulman age 89, of Penland, NC passed away October 4, 2014 at Brian Center Spruce Pine, NC. He was a son of the late Meyer and Pearl Spector Schulman and a Veteran of The United States Army.

He was an artist in ceramics and on the Board of Directors for Penland School. He was a North Carolina Living Treasure Artist in 1999.

Survivors include his wife, Gloria Mendelson Schulman, one daughter, Laura Schulman, and a grandson, Colin O'Banion.

A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
