Modine Miller

Dateline: Green Mountain, NC

Modine Miller, age 89, of Pigeon Roost Rd., Green Mountain, NC went home to be with the Lord, June 3, 2019. She was a native of Mitchell County, NC and a daughter of the late R.C. and Myrtle Bradshaw Byrd. Modine was a homemaker and previously employed with Mitchell County CAPS program. She was a member of Pigeon Roost Baptist Church and loved working in her flowers.

Survivors include: three daughters; Brenda Peterson, of Fletcher, NC, Patricia Cantrell, of Bakersville, NC, and Lisa Thomas, of Spruce Pine, NC, one son; Marvin Miller (Brenda), of Bakersville, NC, one sister; Regina Hughes, of Green Mountain, NC, ten grandchildren, and thirteen great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death in addition to her parents by her husband, Floyd Miller, one son, Terry Michael Miller, and two grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 5, 2019 at 7:00PM in the chapel of Henline - Hughes Funeral Home with Marvin Miller officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will be Thursday, June 6, 2019 at 10:30AM at Bennett Cemetery (Pigeon Roost Rd.)

The family prefers memorials be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of The Blue Ridge, 236 Hospital Drive, Spruce Pine, NC 28777.
