Mary Ruth (Burleson) Wise

Mary Ruth Burleson Wise, age 90, of Bakersville, NC was welcomed into the arms of Jesus on Sunday morning, August 8th, 2021. She was born on June 10th, 1931, the daughter of the late Charles and Freelove Pittman Burleson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters and nine brothers.

 Mary Ruth is survived by her loving husband of 71 years, Rose Wise; her children: Patsy Ward and husband David (whom she loved as her own) of Bakersville; Pam Wise and Randy Wise also of Bakersville; two grandchildren: Janet Staton and husband Dale of Bakersville and Travis Ward and wife Mandy of Burnsville, NC, whom she dearly loved. She is also survived by two great grandchildren, who were her pride and joy, Sam Staton and Grayson Ward.

 Her greatest desire was to tell others about her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, which she did til her dying breath. She now awaits her family which will be with her soon. "Mama we love you and thank you for your example of true godliness. You are the best mama anyone could ever ask for." She faithfully served her Lord as a pastor's wife for many years. She was a member of Red Hill Baptist Church, which she loved dearly.

 There will be a private memorial service for the family on Wednesday. August 11, 2021. Rev. Kenneth Forbes will officiate. Her great grandson, Sam Staton will also give a eulogy. Burial will follow in the Cane Creek Cemetery.

 The family would like to thank Hospice of the Blue Ridge and Dr. Jennifer Larson for their loving care of mama. The family also thanks everyone for their prayers and support through mama's illness. Memorials may be made to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
