Margaret Hoilman Obituary

Margaret Ann Bryant Hoilman graduated to her heavenly home, August 28, 2021 from the residence of her daughter and son-in-law.  Born February 17, 1941, she was the daughter of Charles Bryant and Lorine and Joe Hoilman.  Margaret was a lifelong resident of Mitchell County, but had resided in Asheville and Johnson City, TN during periods of her life.  She was a faithful member of McKinney Cove Baptist Church and served in The Eastern Star Roan Mountain Chapter (Bakersville, NC).

Graduating with the Bowman High Class of 1959, Margaret continued her education at cosmetology school.  She was a self-employed hairdresser for sixty-one years serving her patrons with loving care and developing many life-long friends in the process.

Margaret was a talented cook and loved inviting friends and family to enjoy a meal with her.  She will especially be remembered for her pickled beans and corn, grape leaf pickles, and cornbread.  No one ever left her table hungry.  She enjoyed gardening, working with flowers, and reading.

Outside her salvation in the Lord Jesus Christ, her greatest joy was her family.  She loved her children, grandchildren, and extended family.  Nothing was ever too difficult for her to do for her loved ones.

Margaret’s survivors include her daughter; Lisa Polechio (Doug), Bakersville, NC; her son, Charlie Hoilman, Bakersville, NC; two brothers; Greg Bryant, Burnsville, NC and Mark Forbes, Bakersville, NC, two grandchildren; Chasity Miller (Judd), Casey Wise (Amber), great grandson, R.J. Miller; “adopted granddaughter,” Megan Bennett, and “adopted great grandchildren” Addy and Trin Bennett; and dearest friend, Janie Ayers.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother; Mike Hoilman, great grandson; Cole Miller and beloved grandmother; Geneva Espey.

Funeral services will be held Monday, August 30, 2021 at 8:00PM in McKinney Cove Baptist Church with Todd Ayers, Roy Yelton, and Don Ford officiating. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service. Interment will be Tuesday, August 31, 2021 at 11:00AM at McKinney Cove Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to: Hospice and Palliative Care of The Blue Ridge, 236 Hospital Drive, Spruce Pine, NC 28777.
