Laurence Walter DeRemus, age 82, of Bakersville, NC went home to be with the Lord August 21, 2020. He was a native of Kansas City, Kansas and the son of the late Aldwin and Delores Heller DeRemus.
He was retired as an Electrical Engineer and was a Veteran of The United States Army. He enjoyed driving around town in his red Jeep and many people recognized him in it.
Survivors include: his wife; Claudia DeRemus, his children; Bear Miller (Lisa), of Littleton, Colorado, Kolleen Arnold (Mace), of Kansas City, Kansas, Shannon DeRemus, of Kansas City, Kansas, and Michael DeRemus (Lillian), of Lewisville, Texas, five grandchildren, his stepchildren; Eric Lindsey (Tina), of Palm Harbor, Florida, Erin Lindsey (Brian), of Tampa, Florida, and Jared Lee (Kelly), of Savannah, Georgia.
A private memorial service will be held Wednesday, August 26, 2020 at 4:00PM in the chapel of Henline - Hughes Funeral Home with Mike Peterson officiating. Military Honors will be provided by Sgt. EL Randolph Chapter 57 DAV. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Mitchell County Animal Rescue.
