DATELINE; BAKERSVILLE, NC

James Emmett Young, age 86 of Green Young Cemetery Rd, Bakersville, NC passed away June 11, 2014. He was a son of the late Ralph and Mae Thomas Young and a native of Mitchell County, NC. He was a Veteran of The United States Navy and was retired from Martin Marietta Corp as an Electrician. He was a member of Roan Mountain Baptist Church and also a member of Bakersville Masonic Lodge #357 AF&AM.

Survivors include; three cousins;  Billy Young, Betty Young, and  Beverly Mazes,  a special caregiver; Loretta Pittman, of Spruce Pine, NC, and special friends; Mike McKinney and Kegan Silver.

He was preceded in death by; his wife Mary Young, and his brother Dennis Young.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, June 15, 2014 at 4:00PM in Roan Mountain Baptist Church with Tim Fowler and Mark McKinney officiating. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service. Interment will follow at Green Young Cemetery with Bakersville Masonic Lodge #357 AF&AM conducting Graveside Rites.
