Helen (Silver) Phillips

Helen Silver Phillips, age 86, of Asheville, NC passed away on Tuesday, July 6, 2021 at her home. A native and former resident of Bakersville, NC, she was the daughter of the late John Lucian and Arah Johnson Silver. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, John Derek Phillips.

 Helen was an avid collector of dolls and stuffed animals. She loved word search puzzles,  loved all kinds of animals, and she was a devoted mother who lived to take care of her family. For years, Helen worked along side her husband taking care of the family apple orchard.

 Left to cherish her memories are her husband, Bruce Phillips of the home; her children: Debbie Charuk (William) of Fairview, Jerry Phillips of Hickory, and Tanya Cable (Herve) of Bakersville; her siblings: Phyllis Moskowitz of Baltimore, MD, Douglas Silver (Rosalie) of Bakersville, and John Michael Silver (Janice) of Bakersville; grandchildren: Lilly Cable, James Cable, Hank Cable, and Rosie Cable; and several nieces and nephews.

 Memorial services will be  3:00 PM Sunday, July 11, 2021 in the chapel of Henline-Hughes Funeral Home with Rev. Keith Beck officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, gifts can be sent to Four Seasons Hospice in Asheville.
