Genevieve (Buchanan) Holder

          Genevieve Buchanan Holder, age 88, of Bakersville, NC passed away on Thursday, May 24, 2018 in Mission Hospital in Asheville, NC. She was the daughter of the late Clarence and Ethel Thomas Buchanan and the wife of the late Clifton Holder who passed away in 1988 after 40 years of marriage. In addition, she was preceded in death by her brothers: Burt, Clavin and Harrold Buchanan, and her 4-legged "grandson" - Dean.

          Genevieve was a member of Roan Mountain Baptist Church and before her retirement, she  was a supervisor for Modern Globe for years.

          She is survived by her son, Roger Holder of Bakersville; brother, Robert Buchanan and wife Martha of Shelby, NC; sisters: Dorothy Trivette of Spruce Pine and Velva Franklin of Marion, NC; and several nieces and nephews.

          Genevieve's family has requested a private memorial service and in lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Mitchell County Animal Rescue, 2492 US 19E, Spruce Pine, NC 28777.
