Genevie Turbyfill Obituary

Genevie "Gen" Turbyfill, age 85, of the Ledger Community, Bakersville, NC passed away on Friday, January 17, 2020 at her home. She was the daughter of the late Carroll and Lillian Johnson Conley. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Wayne Turbyfill who passed away in 2012 and her brother, Robert Lee Conley. Gen was a member of Vians Valley Presbyterian Church where she served as treasurer. She loved shopping and traveling. Gen retired from the banking industry.

Survivors include her sister, Peggy Buchanan of Forest City, NC; brother in law: Billy Turbyfill of Greensboro, NC; her nieces: Sue Brady, Becky Peterson, Angie King and Jennifer Evatt; and her nephews: Bobby Conley, Ricky Conley and Randy Turbyfill.

Funeral services will be 2:30 PM Monday, January 20, 2020 in the Vians Valley Presbyterian Church with Revs. Bill Whiteside and Neil Payne officiating. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2:30 prior to the service. Interment will follow the service in the Bear Creek Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Vians Valley Presbyterian Church, PO Box 202, Bakersville, NC 28705 or an organization of choice.
