Geneva Young Boone

On Sunday morning, September 10, 2017 Geneva Young Boone, age 86, arrived at Heaven's Gate to be greeted by brother Warren Young, and sisters Wilma Boone, Shelba Jean Grindstaff, Floy Gage, and Allie Buchanan, and her parents James and Daisy Hall Young.  Jesus enfolded her in His arms of welcome and a joyous reunion began! Geneva was a member of Lily Branch Baptist Church and retired from Baxter Healthcare.

Geneva was a beautiful lady both inside and out. She was a wonderful and supportive wife to her husband Hugh Boone who she leaves to grieve her absence at his side. He suffered a massive stroke at the age of 34, but Geneva dug in her heels and spent a lifetime loving and supporting his every need and want while raising two wonderful and successful children, one of whom became a doctor and another who is a successful business owner.

She leaves daughter, Dr. Sharon Boone Willis and husband Dennis of Morganton, and son Joey Boone and wife Norma of Spruce Pine. She also leaves granddaughter Emily and husband Matthew Meadows, and great granddaughter Alyssa.

Geneva is survived by four siblings; Bill Young, Verna Huskins, Barbara McQueen, and Freeda Young. She leaves many nieces and nephews who will always hold her memory dear. She loved God and raised a Godly family. Although our angel is with God, we will see her one day in Heaven.

This world was made a better place by her presence and her beautiful smile. She leaves behind a legacy of love and support for her family, friends, and all who crossed her path during her journey here on Earth. Her memory will only grow sweeter with time. The Heavenly Choir will sound ever more glorious as she sings God's praise, and Heaven will shine just a little brighter because she is there. 

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, September 13, 2017 at 3:00PM in Lily Branch Baptist Church with Cliff Black and Steve Williams officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Lily Branch Baptist Church Cemetery.
