Gary Edward Street , age 66, of Buladean passed away August 16, 2014 .  A Native of Mitchell County, NC he was the only son of the late Lewis and Nell Street . Gary was employed with Unimin Corp for the past 22 years.  He was a veteran of the US Army and served in Vietnam . Gary was a member of the Bakersville Masonic Lodge #357 AF and AM.  He was also a long-time member of Odom's Chapel Church .

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sisters, Viola Street and Geneva "Jack" Honeycutt and nephew Alvin Cook.

Survivors include his wife of 44 years Marcella Odom Street and son,  Kevin and wife, Kristi Street, his granddaughter and light of his life Haley Street,  sisters; Nola Crisp of Cleveland, TN, Virginia Burleson of Spruce Pine and Norma Lou Cook and Ethel Ollis both of Buladean.  Several nieces and nephews.

Gary was the love of Marcella's life and he will be greatly missed by all.  Those who knew him have no doubt that Gary is where he wants to be and are comforted by God's wonder and mercy.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, August 19, 2014 at 3:00PM in Odom's Chapel Church with Rev. Bob Campbell officiating. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service.  Burial will follow at Melton cemetery.
