Charles Barry Marshall died peacefully in his home at Lavonia Crest in Bakersville, NC on January 26, 2021 at the age of 80.  He was born in Baltimore, MD in 1940, 2nd son to Lillian and Charles Marshall.

A loving man, Barry was known for his big personality, immense sense of humor and philosophical conversation. He loved to laugh, joke and enjoyed a good cigar.

For a few years he divided his time between Tallahassee, FL and NC before settling in Bakersville, NC.  He loved the beauty of the mountains where he enjoyed his friends, gardening and feeding the wildlife.  In his younger days, he served in the US Army where he was stationed in Germany during the Berlin crisis of 1961

Barry is survived by his wife Patricia Marshall; siblings; Richard Marshall of Jacksonville, Florida, Doug Marshall (Marcy) of Salisbury, MD., and Linda Marshall (Michael) of Portland, Oregon. His children are Doug Marshall (Steph) of Charlotte, N.C.; Alisa Rhodes (Brett) of Easton, Maryland; and Todd Marshall (Jorja) of Fort Lauderdale, Florida.  His surviving family includes 3 grandchildren, Haiden and Alex Rhodes; and the newest family member baby Maddox Marshall.  Barry was a favorite Uncle to Chuck, Kelley, Grant, Holly, Doug, Christy, Dan and Ty.

Barry Marshall was a man of enormous warmth and enthusiasm for life.  He is remembered for his deep voice and laughter, endless curiosity, and love for family and friends.  He was and will continue to be the heart of the Marshall Family.

A celebration of life will be held at a later event.
