Ada Lee McKinney

January 8, 1942 – April 6, 2021

Ada Lee McKinney of Bakersville North Carolina, went to be home with the Lord on April 6, 2021.

Ada Lee was the daughter of the late Chester and Etta Street, and four brothers Carlo, Marshall, Harlas, and Roger Street and one Sister Earlene Masters.

Ada Lee was dearly loved and is survived by her devoted husband of 57 years, Joe H. McKinney and her loving son James H. McKinney and wife Amy Holden McKinney of Bakersville. She is survived by two sisters Cleo Lyons, of Hampton, TN, and Alma Sue Cash of Bakersville, NC and several nieces and nephews.

She was a devoted wife and mother; she loved her family and friends. Ada Lee enjoyed painting artwork, cooking and gardening and most of all loved taking care of her family and home.

A native of Mitchell County Ada Lee was a graduate of Tipton Hill High School, a graduate of Johnson City School of Cosmetology. She was retired from Blanton Real Estate and Insurance. She was a member of Roan Mountain Baptist Church.

A private graveside service will be held Monday, April 12, 2021 at 2:00PM at Green Young Cemetery with Reverend Russell McKinney and Reverend Mark McKinney officiating
