Zella Burleson Ayers, age 82, of Spicewood Lane, Bakersville, NC passed away May 13, 2020 at her home. She was the daughter of the late Nat and Lula Buchanan Burleson. She was also preceded in death by her husband Jack J. Ayers, infant daughter Janie Renee Ayers and a sister Belle Grindstaff.

Left to cherish her memories are a very special grandson, Justin C. Ayers whom she adored, daughters, Jaqueline Murdock (Dale), Kimberly Duvall (Tom), son, Chris Ayers (Alisa), grandchildren, Tyler (Caitlin) Duvall, Tommy Duvall (Casey Parker), Michaela Murdock, and Samuel Murdock, great grandchildren, Greyson Duvall, Skyler Duvall, Emery Brown, and one on the way.

The family would like to say a special heartfelt thanks to Hospice and Palliative Care of The Blue Ridge, and Kindred at Home.

A private graveside service for family will be held.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of The Blue Ridge at 236 Hospital Drive, Spruce Pine, NC 28777.
