Wilma H. Troutman, age, 82, of the Buladean Community, went home to be with the Lord, February 18th surrounded by her family. A native of Mitchell County, she was the daughter of the late Ernest and Ilo Hughes. She was also preceded in death by her sister Betty Gail Hughes and her brothers Lawrence Hughes and Ernie Lee Hughes.

Wilma became a member of Middle District Freewill Baptist Church in 1968. She loved being a Sunday School Teacher, Choir Leader, Bible School and Christmas Play Director. She traveled with Earl while he was in the Air Force for 4 years, She was employed by Hampshire Hosiery in Spruce Pine for many years. She loved spending time with her family most of all and going shopping.

She is survived by her husband Earl Troutman; daughter Tina Whitson (Rick), of Green Mountain, son Greg Troutman (Amy), of Burnsville; granddaughters Kirby Troutman (Steven Evans), of Burnsville, Samantha Taylor (Rodney), of Newland; grandson Luke Troutman of Burnsville; great-grandsons Ryder and Easton Taylor; sister Evelyn Jenkins (Douglas), of TN; sister in law Shirley Hughes of Buladean; several nieces and nephews; special neighbors and church family.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, February 21, 2019 at 7:00PM in Middle District Freewill Baptist Church with Scotty Jenkins and Stephen Miller officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will be Friday, February 22, 2019 at 11:00AM at the Troutman Cemetery.
