Wilma Jean Ward, 81, of Bakersville , NC passed away on Wednesday, September 16, 2015 in the Mission Hospital in Asheville . A native of Mitchell County , she was the daughter of the late Eddie and Geneva Hobson Ledford and the wife of the late Millard Ward. Wilma was a retired seamstress and enjoyed embroidering and reading her bible. She was also preceded in death by sisters: Pauline Ledford, Georgia Garland and an infant sister; and her brother, Rev. Eddie Dean Ledford.

Survivors include three sons and their wives: Dickie Ray and Rhonda Ledford, Ricky and Ellen Ledford and Charles Edward and Margaret Ward all of Bakersville; her sister, Clarise Edwards of Bakersville; two grandchildren: Kayla Ledford and Shawna Hughes and 1 great grandchild, Joshua Carter Hughes; also several nieces and nephews.

Private family services will be held.
