William Edward Garland, age 77, of the Buladean Community, Bakersville , NC passed away on Wednesday, July 29, 2015 at his home. He was the son of the late Bill and Carolyn Nickelson Garland and was a member of the Roan View Baptist Church .

Survivors include his wife, Billie Hoilman Garland of Buladean; daughters: Rosa Cox and Carolyn Mitchell both of Marion , NC ; sons: Terry Garland of Bakersville and Larry Garland of Knoxville , TN ; sisters: Mary Hughes of Bakersville and Lucy Hughes of Maryland ; also 7 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son, Gary Garland.

Funeral services will be 7:00 pm Friday, July 31, 2015 in the chapel of Henline-Hughes Funeral Home with Marvin Silvers, G.B. Garland and Keith Tipton officiating. Burial will be 11:00 am Saturday in the L.G. Gouge Cemetery .
