Dateline: Green Mountain, NC

Walter Lee Peterson, age 77 of Peterson Rd., Green Mountain, NC went home with be with the Lord November 29, 2020. He was a native of Mitchell County, NC and a son of the late Grady and Edith Bennett Peterson. He was a devoted member and 10 year deacon at Bailey Brethren Church. He worked in construction and carpentry for over 50 years.  He loved his family and lived his life in service for his Lord.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife Idaleen Horton Peterson and sons Stacey (Suzy)of Green Mountain and David Horton (Julie) of Burnsville, NC, grandchildren: Toby (Blythe) Peterson, Corie (Troy) Self, Casey (Brooke) Peterson, Jeremy (Melanie) Horton, Taylor and Emily Horton, great grandchildren: Grady Peterson, Zia Self, Boyd Self, Sloane Peterson, Tolley Peterson, Dorci Self, Atlas Peterson, Nora Self, Jaden and Jackson Horton, step great grandchildren: Nathan and Max.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 5, 2020 at 1:00PM in Bailey Brethren Church with Rev. Reed Bagby officiating. The body will lie in state one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will follow the service at Peterson Family Cemetery (Peterson Rd.)
