Vondina Ann Norman, age 80 of Watermelon Way, Burnsville, NC went home to be with the Lord, February 28, 2022. She was a native of Mitchell County, NC and a daughter of the late Ralph and Pauline Greene Lloyd.

Vondina was a homemaker and greatly loved her family. She especially loved spending time and playing with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a member of Cane Creek Freewill Baptist Church and enjoyed bird watching, collecting salt and pepper shakers, and working crossword puzzles. She was a very happy person that always had a smile.

Survivors include: four children; Sherry Byrd, of Spruce Pine, NC, Kenneth Norman (Marylou), of Marion, NC, Kimberly Ledford (Clifford), of Bakersville, NC, and Kristy Daniels (Bo), of Burnsville, NC, grandchildren; David Byrd, Ethan Ledford, Shawna Kneen, Kayla Vaughn, Jacob Daniels, and Samuel Daniels, great grandchildren; Macie Vaughn, Garrett Ledford, Oak Kneen, Nolan Vaughn, Willow Kneen, and one great grandson on the way.

She was preceded in death in addition to her parents by her husband David Norman, one sister Eva Mae Wilson, grandson Bobby Byrd Jr., and a son in law Bob Byrd Sr.

Funeral services will be held Friday, March 4, 2022 at 3:00PM in the chapel of Henline - Hughes Funeral Home with Reverend Chad Wise officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow the service at Mine Creek Cemetery.
