Tonya Nadine Cooper Bruce, age 42 of Iva, SC formerly of Bakersville, NC went home to be with the Lord October 25, 2016. She was a native of Mitchell County, NC and employed as a Lab Technician. Tonya loved being at the beach and enjoyed car shows, working in her yard, and taking care of her cats.

Survivors include: her husband; Jimmy Curtis Bruce, of the home, her mother; Diane Cooper West and husband Sandy Raymond West Sr., of Bakersville, NC, one stepdaughter; Carly McMahan, of the home, four sisters; Autumn Angel West, of Bakersville, NC, Melinda West, of Bakersville, NC, Cynthia Ray, of TN, and Pamela Snyder, of Red Springs, NC, two brothers; James Kevin West, of Rockingham, NC, and John Arthur West, of Spruce Pine, NC, one grandson; Drey, and a special uncle; Ricky Cooper, of Micaville, NC, a stepbrother; Raymond West, of Burnsville, NC, two stepsisters; Mary Stewart, of Asheville, NC, and Sandy Marie Smith, of SC.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Fred and Nadine Cooper.

A celebration of life will be held Saturday, November 5, 2016 at 5:00PM at The Bakersville Creekwalk. The family will receive friends from 2:30 until the service time.
