Thomas Michael O'Connor, age 78, of Bakersville , NC , passed away on Monday, January 16, 2017 at his home in the Buladean Community. He was the son of the late Thomas Joseph and Myra Graham O'Connor. He served in the U.S. Air Force. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sons: Timothy O'Connor and David Givens, and a sister, Kathy Newcome.

Survivors include his wife, Jimmie Jo O'Connor of the home; daughters: Toni Crider and Molly Sandberg both of Washington; Heather Young of Bakersville; sons: Kenneth Givens and wife Margaret of Bakersville and Richard Givens of Miami, FL; sisters: Mary Bates of West Virginia and Alice Fehlau of New Mexico; brothers: Steve O'Connor and Michael O'Connor both of West Virginia; also six grandchildren and one great grandchild.
