Tevis Eugene "Gene - Wildman" Edwards, age 68 of the Cane Creek Community, passed away on Friday, March 16, 2018. He was the son of the late Tevis and Nell Buchanan Edwards. Gene was a graduate of Bowman High School and A.B. Tech in Asheville where he was a member of the basketball team. He was a U.S. Army Veteran, a member of the American Legion, former business manager for the Bakersville Rhododendron Festival, a member of Cane Creek Baptist Church, and a member of the N.R.A. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters: Carole and Barbara and a nephew, Brian Dolan.

Survivors include his sister, Rachel Ann Lomas and five nieces and nephews, five great nieces and nephews and 2 great great nieces and nephews; his beloved dog, Sandy and many devoted friends.

Funeral services will be held 3:00 pm Saturday, March 24, 2018 in the chapel of Henline-Hughes Funeral Home with Mark McKinney officiating. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service. Burial will follow the service in the Cane Creek Cemetery.
