Sybil L. Hall, age 87, of Spruce Pine, NC passed away on Thursday, June 11, 2015 at the Franklin Woods Community Hospital . A native of Yancey County , NC , she was the daughter of the late Halvey H.  and Annie Gouge Lewis and the wife of the late Sidney W. Hall Jr. Sybil graduated from Clearmont High School, then East Tennessee State College with a degree in Elementary Education. Sybil briefly taught at Harris Elementary School in Spruce Pine, NC. She then taught school at the Harrisburg Elementary School in Cabarrus County , NC where she retired. She was also a member of the Harrisburg United Methodist Church where she was involved with youth activities.

Survivors include her sister, Regina Lewis Henline and husband Bill of Spruce Pine, NC and her niece, Debbie Lewis Henline of Johnson City , TN. Sybil enjoyed time with her family and friends, gardening, and her career teaching children.

Funeral services will be 6:00 pm Sunday, June 14, 2015 in the chapel of Henline-Hughes Funeral Home with Palma L. Bennett officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will be 11:00 am Monday in the Fairview Cemetery off Jacks Creek Road in Yancey County , NC .          Memorials may be made to the charity of choice.
