Steve Fredrick Peterson, 58 of Poplar, NC passed away on Thursday, September 28, 2017 at his home. He was the son of the late Samuel Jefferson Peterson and the husband of the late Linda McMahan Peterson who passed away in 2012. Steve was a member of the Bailey House Church , a carpenter and an avid outdoorsman. In addition to his father and wife, he was preceded in death by a niece, Millicent Miller.

Steve is survived by his daughter, Amanda Keefer (Ray) of Burnsville; sons: Cody Peterson (Damaris) of Charlotte, Joshua Peterson (Kayla) of Poplar, Jonathan Peterson of Poplar, and Kenny Shadrick of Georgia; sister, Becky Sue Miller (Johnny) of Poplar and brother, Michael Dodson (Julia) of Roundup, Montana; grandchildren: Neveah Mae Peterson, Dalton Keefer, Morgan Keefer and Elijah Keefer; niece, Amberly Rohr and great nephews: Jaxon Rohr, Ashton Rohr and Abel Rohr.

Funeral services will be 6:00 pm Sunday, October 1, 2017 in the Bailey House Church with Reed Bagby and Dean Murphy officiating. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service. Burial will be 1:00 pm Monday in the Peterson Family Cemetery on Sams Branch Road .
