Dateline: Bakersville, NC

Shirley Miller, age 84, of Gouge Drive, Bakersville, NC went home to be with the Lord December 20, 2019. She was a native of Warren, Indiana, and a daughter of the late Cecil and Edith Schwob. She was retired as a devoted housekeeper in the healthcare industry. She was a Christian and enjoyed gardening, taking care of her flowers, and swinging in her porch swing.

Survivors include: three daughters; Deborah Miller (William Porter), of Bakersville, NC, Diana Sallo, of Bakersville, NC, and Denise Guttendorf, of Maryville, TN, one son; David Miller, of Bakersville, NC, one sister; Norma Sliger, of North Webster, Indiana, and one brother; Dale Schwob, of Marion, Indiana, three grandchildren; Jessica Smith, Brian Porter, and William P. Guttendorf III, and two great grandchildren; Taylor Smith and Caiden Guttendorf.

She was preceded in death in addition to her parents by: her husband; George F. Miller, and her sister; Linda Gephard.

A service of remembrance will be held at a later date.
