DATELINE; ROAN MOUNTAIN , TN

Shirley Elizabeth Barnett Sheets, age 78 of Roan Mountain , TN passed away January 30, 2015 .

She was a daughter of the late Isaac Walter and Elsie C. Barnett and also preceded in death by her loving husband Rev. Howard Sheets, and a brother Eddie C. Barnett.

Shirley was a Godly woman and loving mother of five children: Sheila Wise of Spruce Pine, NC, Kathryn Johnson, Gail English (Randy), Marvin Sheets (Charlene), and Dennis Sheets (Kitty), all of Roan Mountain , TN.

Shirley was a gracious, loving, and compassionate grandmother to 11 grandchildren: Candi English Smith (Jonathon), Melissa Roark (Willie), Beverly McClellan (Rocky), Kimberly Holtsclaw (Jimmy), Bobby Wise, Brandon Barnett, Daniel English (Traci), Bradley Sheets (Stephanie), Christopher Sheets (Penny), Joshua Barnett, Jamie Sheets (Jessica), two step grandchildren: Jeff Barnett and Betty Lawson, eighteen great grandchildren, and four step great grandchildren, four sisters: Nancy, Martha, Temple, and Daisy all of Bakersville, NC, three brothers: Allen and Randy, both of Bakersville, NC, and Junior of Durham, NC, and a host of family and friends.

Shirley was a faithful member of Sugar Hollow Freewill Baptist Church in Roan Mountain , TN where her husband was pastor for many years.

Funeral services will be held Monday, February 2, 2015 at 2:00PM in Tetrick Funeral Home Roan Mountain Chapel, with her pastor Rev. James Hill and Rev. Ricky Simerly officiating. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service. Interment will follow at Sheets Family Cemetery .

Pallbearers will be her grandsons.

The family would like to express a special thanks to Dr. Chakraborty, nurse Patty, and the staff of The Regional Cancer Center, Hospice and nurse, Ivy, Ruby, and Becky and also Dr. Wes Hanson and Roan Mountain Medical Clinic.
