Sherry Gay Greene, age 62, of Spruce Pine, NC passed away on Saturday, December 24, 2022 at her home. Sherry grew up in Bakersville and was the daughter of the late Harve and Belle Burleson Grindstaff. She was a graduate of Mitchell High School and was a homemaker. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Harvey Grindstaff.

Survivors include two daughters, Candace Greene and Andrea Greene both of Burnsville; sister, Angela Brown and husband Walter of Old Fort; grandchildren: Tyler Ollis, Colton Greene, Kinsley Ayers and Jackson Ayers; nephew, Travis Brown; and her friend who was close to her heart, Bridgette Donald and daughter Carleigh Chrisawn; and her beloved cat, Dixie.

Graveside services will be held 2:00 PM Wednesday, December 28, 2022 in the Cane Creek Cemetery with Rev. Nathan Silver officiating.
