Dateline: Spruce Pine, NC

Sherrill Roger Byrd age 75 of Hwy 19E, Spruce Pine, NC passed away May 3, 2016 at his home. He was a native of Mitchell County, NC and a son of the late Marshall Lee and Mae Greene Byrd. He was a member of Estatoe Church of God and was a retired truck driver for Dwayne Ledford Trucking.

Survivors include: his wife of 45 years Sabra B. Byrd, of the home, two grandchildren; Hannah and Noah Mason, three sisters; Sabra Hobson (Baxter), and Pam Snyder (Sam), all of Marion, NC, Brenda Hartley, of Unicoi, TN a brother; Jerrell Byrd (Brenda), of Johnson City, TN, and one son in law; Scott Mason.

He was preceded in death by his daughters; Brandy Ann Mason and Robin Lynn Byrd.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 5, 2016 at 7:00PM in the chapel of Henline - Hughes Funeral Home with Mike Peterson and Pastor Devine officiating. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service. Interment will be Friday, May 6, 2016 at 11:00AM at Gus Young Cemetery ( Arbuckle Rd ).
