Lucille Buchanan, 84, of Huntersville, NC, passed away on Thursday, September 21, 2017 at her home. A native of Bakersville , NC , she was the daughter of the late William and Bertha Freeman Ledford and the wife of the late Bill Buchanan who died in 2005. She was also preceded in death by brothers: Junior, George and Handy Ledford and sisters: Marie Brohard, Doris Sheagley and Ruth Holder; and her son in law, Arthur Cook.

She is survived by her son, Gary Buchanan and wife Mary of Hickory; daughter, Janet Cook of Huntersville; sister, Darlene Gardner Burleson of Bakersville; grandchildren: Amanda Buchanan and Brian Cook and wife Stacia; great granddaughter, Rachel Cook.

Graveside services will be 2:00 pm Sunday, September 24, 2017 in the Lelia Randolph Buchanan Cemetery , Hwy 261, Bakersville , NC . Revs. Garry Revels and G.B. Garland will officiate.
