Roger Dale Norris, age 67, of the Little Rock Creek Community, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, May 19, 2015 at his home. A native of Hampton , TN , he was the son of the late Floyd and Mamie Johnson Norris. He was a member of Roan Valley Baptist Church and retired as a salesman for Summit Building Supply in Burnsville , NC . Roger had a special interest in woodworking and making clocks.

Survivors include his wife, Margie Queen Norris; daughter, Jennifer Gibson and husband David of Kingston, TN; son, Jonathan Norris of Elizabethton, TN; step son, Christopher Hughes and wife Lori of White Bear Lake, MN; sisters: Barbara Miller of Hampton and Alice Shell of Elizabethton; brothers: Benny Norris of Elk park, NC and Gerald Norris of Elizabethton; one grandson, Grayson Hughes and several nieces and nephews and his beloved dog, Chester. Roger was preceded in death by his sisters: Doris Davis and Alma Norris; brothers: Leon, Byrl, Jimmy, Doyle and Estel Norris.

Funeral services will be 7:00 pm Friday, May 22, 2015 in the Roan Valley Baptist Church with Roger Hilemon, Chris Hitechew, Adam Brewer, Reid Cooper and Troy Davis officiating. The family will receive friends two hours prior the service at the church. Burial will be 11:00 am Saturday in the Queen Family Cemetery . In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Gideon's International.
