Roger Dale Grindstaff, 76, of Bakersville, NC passed peacefully at his home to be with the Lord on February 23, 2026.

Born on September 19, 1949, Roger was a native of Mitchell County, NC and retired from The Quartz Corporation after many years of service. He was an avid fisherman. At any time of the year, you could spot his truck beside any number of creeks and rivers in the area and you knew he was doing what he loved most. He spent many Sundays rooting for the Washington Redskins and never missed the opportunity to crack a joke, cut up or aggravate the people he loved most.

Survivors include his loving wife Margaret Ann Grindstaff, brothers; David (Diane) Grindstaff, and Mike Foster, very special brother-in-law Jerry Buchanan, children; Amy (Will) Wilson, Brent (Heather) Grindstaff, loving stepchildren; Tony Banks, Tammy Banks, and seven grandchildren; Mahala, Autumn, Zella, Megan, Chase, Kaylie and Kari.

Roger was preceded in death by his parents Joseph and Geneva Grindstaff, his sisters; Ima Jean, Jessie, Betty, and Nita, and his brother Jim.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
