Rhonda Kay Buchanan Houston, age 55, of Hamburg Rd., Bakersville, NC went home to be with the Lord, November 29, 2018. She was the daughter of the late Ronald and Willa Mae Greene Buchanan. She was of the Baptist faith and was a supporter of Spartanburg First Baptist Church. She loved music and dancing and especially her grandchildren. She was a caring and kind hearted person.

Survivors include: her husband; David Houston Jr., of the home, one daughter; Jessica Hollifield (Daniel), of Avery County, NC, one son; Jonathan Hughes (Jessica), of Spruce Pine, NC, three stepchildren; Matt Houston (Sadie), of Bakersville, NC, Trevor Houston (Becky), of Bakersville, NC, and David Wesley Houston (Cassandra), of Washington, DC, one brother; Ronnie Buchanan Jr. (Louise), of Bakersville, NC, and fifteen grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Monday, December 3, 2018 at 2:00PM in the chapel of Henline - Hughes Funeral Home. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow the service at Houston Cemetery (Powdermill Rd).
