Reverend Paul Edward Silver Jr., age 72, of Gordon Silver Rd, Bakersville, NC went home to be with the Lord August 1, 2018. He was a native of Mitchell County, NC and a son of the late Paul Edward Silver Sr. and Grace Buchanan Silver. He attended Southwestern Seminary. He was a Baptist Minister in the area and pastor of several churches throughout the community including: Kona Baptist, and Rebels Creek, in Mitchell County, Shoal Creek, and Browns Creek, in Yancey County, Faith Baptist, Kings Mountain, and Forks of Ivy, in Madison County. He loved his family, gardening, and fishing and was devoted to his church and his community.

Survivors include: his wife; Brenda Hughes Silver, two sons; Michael Silver (Trena), and Gary Lee Silver (Donna), one brother; Dean Silver, three grandchildren; Richard Silver, Emily Sue Silver, Avery Jane Silver, five step grandchildren; Melissa Sue Buchanan, Bruce Buchanan, Amanda Delgado, Jacob Merchant, and Matthew Rogers, two great grandchildren; Alexa Delgado and Ethan Delgado.

A graveside service will be held Friday, August 3, 2018 at 4:00PM at Kona Cemetery with Shane Cassida officiating. Interment will follow the service.
