Rebecca Jo Ferguson, age 51, of Bakersville, passed away on Friday, August 7th, 2015 in the Johnson City Medical Center . Affectionately known as "Phinny". She was the youngest of 6 and her mother's baby. As a homemaker she devoted most of her time to her two daughters, mother, and church. Her kind and gentle spirit touched many lives and will forever be missed. She was the daughter of Louise Baker Ferguson of Bakersville and the late Brown Ferguson. She was a homemaker and a member of the Roan Mountain Baptist Church .

Surviving, in addition to her mother, are her daughters: Whitni Freeman of Spruce Pine and Staci Silver of Bakersville; sisters: Eleanor Conley of Parrottsville, TN, Libby Miller and Susan Huskins both of Bakersville and Barbara Ferguson of Spruce Pine; brother, Daniel Ferguson of Charlotte; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, August 11th, 2015 , at 6:00 pm in the Roan Mtn Baptist Church with Mark McKinney officiating. Burial will follow the service in the Bakersville Memorial Cemetery . The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
