Dateline: Bakersville, NC

Ray Honeycutt, age 90 of Deer Rd. Bakersville, NC went home to be with the Lord, December 3, 2016. He was a native of Mitchell County, NC and a son of the late William (Will) and Nora Hill Honeycutt. He was retired from the State of Virginia where he worked as a Correctional Officer.

Survivors include; his children; Adalee Honeycutt, Anita Honeycutt, and Larry Dean Honeycutt, all of Maryland, three brothers; Frank Honeycutt (Sue), of Bakersville, NC, Roy Honeycutt (Christine), of Bakersville, NC, Howard Honeycutt (Goldie), of Bakersville, NC, one sister; Martha Garland (Jack), of Valdese, NC, and three grandchildren.

He was preceded in death in addition to his parents by: two brothers; Rob and Hoyte Honeycutt, and two sisters; Pat Honeycutt and Joyce Gibbs.

Funeral services will be held Monday, December 5, 2016 at 2:00PM in the chapel of Henline - Hughes Funeral Home with Rev. Doug Willis and Rev. Mike Peterson officiating.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Big Crabtree Cemetery (Rabbit Hop Rd.).
