Ray Garland, 86 of Bakersville, NC passed away on Sunday, January 10, 2021 in Mission Hospital in Asheville, NC. He was the son of the late Doss and Pearl Stevens Garland. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters and two brothers. Ray loved to hunt and fish and he was a sawmill operator.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Banks Garland; daughter, Niki Jones (Dustin); son, Scotty Hoilman (Colleen Newburn); grandchildren: Christina Hopper, Keenan Hoilman and Shay Jones; great grandchildren: Landyn and L.J.; sisters: Carolyn Galloway, Ellen Hawley and Elva Jay Garland; brothers: Lloyd and Howard Garland; and his special pet "Peddie".
