Rachel Ann Davis, age 59, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, March 17, 2106 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was the daughter of Barbara Burleson of Bakersville and the late Harold Burleson. She was a former employee of the Mitchell County Agriculture Extension Office  and a member of the Calvary Baptist Church .

In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband, Howard Davis; son, Andy Davis of Bakersville; sisters: Bobbi Jean Hobson and husband Roger and Loretta Hobson and husband Ken all of Bakersville; grandsons, Jason and Johnny Davis; nephews, Joe and Dustin Hobson; nieces, April Glenn and Shannon Hobson and several uncles and aunts and a great nephew, Mavrick Hobson.

Rachel was a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother and sister who had a beautiful smile and never complained about anything. She will be greatly missed by everyone.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, March 20, 2016 at 8:00 pm in the chapel of Henline-Hughes Funeral Home with Ronnie Gouge and Marvin Miller officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm until the service hour. Burial will follow on Monday in the Fork Mountain Cemetery at 11:00 am .
