Quentin Lloyd Buchanan Jr. age 70 of NC 80 Bakersville, NC passed away January 18, 2013. He was a native of Mitchell County, NC and retired as Co-owner and Insurance Agent with Cardinal Insurance Company. He was a Member and Sunday School Teacher at Berry Chapel Baptist Church.

Quentin graduated from Bowman High School and Mars Hill College. After Graduation he was employed with Baxter Labs for ten years, Farm Bureau Insurance Company, Bakersville, NC, and Phillips Insurance Company, Spruce Pine, NC.

He was preceded in death by; his father; Quentin Buchanan Sr., and his granddaughter; Skylar Ann Buchanan.

Survivors include; his wife; Janet Snyder Buchanan, of the home, his mother; Thelma M. Buchanan, his daughter; Kimberly B. Jester (David), of Marintez, Ga, his sons; Mickey S. Buchanan (Suzie), of Concord, NC, and Travis L. Buchanan (Meg), of Brevard, NC; his brother; Gary Buchanan, of Hendersonville, NC, his grandchildren; Ellen Jester, Nettie Jester, Lillie Jester, Shumete Jester, Zoie Buchanan, Piper Buchanan, Gracie Carrick, Baker Buchanan, and Grant Buchanan, and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Monday, January 21, 2013 at 7:00PM in Berry Chapel Baptist Church with Harold Grindstaff, Bobby Joe Greene, and Dan Blackwell officiating. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service at the church. Interment will be Tuesday, January 22, 2013 at 11:00AM at Grassy Creek Memorial Gardens.
