Phyllis Riddle Sparks, age 90 of Orlando Florida formerly of Bakersville, NC, went home to be with the Lord November 6, 2021. She was a native of Mitchell County, NC and a daughter of the late Ranzie and Jane Elizabeth Oakes Riddle. Phyllis was a member of Bear Creek Baptist Church and attended Cotton Tree Church of God Chapel (Cayman Brac Island), while she lived with her daughter. She was a florist and an artist and deeply loved and enjoyed both.

Survivors include: her daughters; Carla French, and Kathryn Kirkconnell, of Cayman Brac, and Lori Sparks, of Orlando, Florida, and her son; Philip Sparks, of Burnsville, NC, five grandchildren; Brek Sparks, Thor Brek Sparks, Melissa Haught, Aaron French, and Justin French, and thirteen great grandchildren.

Phyllis was preceded in death in addition to her parents by: her husband Frank H. Sparks, two brothers; Jack and Harold Riddle, and three sisters; Anne Nichols, Katherine Revis, and Betty Penley.

Funeral services will be held Friday, November 19, 2021 at 11:00AM in the chapel of Henline - Hughes Funeral Home with Reverend Thomas French officiating. Interment will follow the service at Bear Creek Cemetery.
