Phyllis Ann Putman Gardner, age 63 of Campbell Cemetery Rd, Bakersville, NC went home to be with the Lord April 3, 2023. A native of Mitchell County, NC she was a daughter of the late Aught and Madeline Mosley Putman. She attended Fork Mountain Church of the Lord Jesus Christ. Phyllis was a people person and enjoyed traveling and going to thrift stores.

Survivors include two daughters: Kelly Gardner of Bakersville, NC and Pamela Lynn Buchanan of Spruce Pine, NC, two sons: Augustus Gardner and Richard Gardner both of Bakersville, NC, brothers and sisters: Charles Putman, Daisy Hoilman, Billy Joe Putman, Adrian Putman, and Charlene Putman all of Bakersville, NC, and two grandchildren: Luther Lester and Trevor Lee Buchanan.

She was preceded in death in addition to her parents by her husband Alvin Richard Gardner, one son Jesse James Gardner, and her brothers: Donald, Ray, Roger, Randy, and Guy Putman.

Funeral services will be held Friday, April 7, 2023 at 2:00PM in Fork Mountain Church of Jesus Christ with Doug Honeycutt, and GB Garland officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow the service at Mosley Cemetery.
