Phillip W. Masters, 70, of Bakersville, NC passed away on Sunday, June 5, 2016 at his home. He was the son of the late Frank and Viola Garland Masters. He was a electrician for Coats America in Marion, NC and a member of the McKinney Cove Baptist Church where he served as the Sunday School Superintendent.

Survivors include his wife, Norma Jean Stroud Masters; son, David Brian Masters and wife Tina of Bakersville; stepchildren: Kathy Walker and husband Harold of Marion, NC, Barbara Fender and husband Jackie of Nebo, NC, James David Buchanan of Marion and Jessica Morningstar of Todd, NC; granddaughter, Emily Olivia Masters; and five step grandchildren; sister, Barbara Reid and husband Ray of Bakersville; brothers: Wayne Masters and wife Blanche of Clear Spring, MD and Wilburn Masters and wife Pat of Bakersville; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be Wednesday, June 8, 2016 at 7:00 pm in the McKinney Cove Baptist Church with Pastor Todd Ayers, Phillip Murdock, Don Ford and Wade Bowman officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will be at 11:00 am Thursday in the Garland Masters Cemetery.
