Obituary

Patricia “Patsy” Huskins Stamey age 88 of Bakersville, NC passed away Thursday August 27, 2026 at The Greens of Spruce Pine. Born in Mitchell County she was a daughter of the late Alvin and Sally Johnson Huskins. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death her husband Bruce Stamey, brothers, Bill, Bob and Harold Huskins and sisters, Thelma Hipps and Atlas Williams.

Patsy worked for Ellens Knitting Mill and later retired from Henredon Furniture. She was a member of Roan Mountain Baptist Church and was active in the Choir, and was a member of Samaritans Purse. She enjoyed cooking, gardening and flowers, dancing at Youngs Mountain Music and the Orchard at Altapass. She also enjoyed traveling and going on cruises and spending time with her family especially her grandson.

Left to cherish her memories is her daughter Rhonda Robinson and husband Garry of Bakersville, her grandson, Bryce Robinson and wife Callie of Knoxville, TN and her great grandson, Tate Robinson.

Funeral services for Mrs. Stamey will be conducted at 3:00 pm Sunday August 30, 2026 at Roan Mountain Baptist Church with the Revs. Russell McKinney and Harold Bennett officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will follow in the Cane Creek Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers the family ask that memorial donations be made to Operation Christmas Child in care of Roan Mountain Baptist Church.
